What a great year for soft fruits.
I'm so pleased I turned most of my veg beds into soft fruit beds.

Had a good harvest of Mara de Bois strawberries from May 23 up until a couple of weeks ago. They paused briefly and are now flowering again with a few ripe fruits.

Ben Sarek blackcurrants ready to harvest

Just picked 1.2Kg from this bush this morning

    Yesterday-
Ben Conan blackcurrants for freezing and Patriot blueberries and Glen Something Raspbs. for my morning porridge, but not much room for the porridge :)

@purplerallim Strawberry runners tend to find a place that they like then grow the roots.

That is a good harvest @Pete.8  my blackcurrant Bush is full this year and they look lovely and juicy too

    Thanks @PurpleRose
This is only the 2nd year for the Ben Sarek and I'm impressed. It's small bush too.
The berries on the Ben Conan were small as I didn't prune it last year... but I still got about 2Kg from 2 bushes

There's certainly no chance of constipation this summer 😁

So nice to see such a haul of fruits, @Pete.8 !! *My own blackcurrants are just a week or so behind yours; I normally get to pick the bulk of them on my return from annual Austrian holibobs - [nearest I got to seeing Austria this year was to watching the F1 Grand Prix on TV.....!!]. Stay safe & enjoy the sun etc, old chum.

Hi @David Matthews2 hope all is well in your world.
Maybe you could have 2 trips to Austria next year :) a very beautiful country.
Hope you have a good blackcurrant harvest and some tasty tomatoes to look forward to soon too!
    All the best matey

Reply to @Pete.8 : All well thus far - coming 'out' of Welsh phased lockdown might be traumatic - dv we'll adjust to the outside world in due course! *Blackcurrants had a good shaking in high winds over w/e - few losses ie downed berries were quite 'tangy' - I hope for a fair harvest for jams & maybe a pickle or two? Any recipes out there in GW Land, folks??
