I have lots of these dotted around the garden, they have gone to seed now.  I can shake the stem and the seeds go everywhere.  What do I do with the main plant now.  Do I cut it down the ground or to around 6 or 8 inches?  Thankyou.

I always cut the flower stems right down to the bottom, leaving just the basal leaves.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
