That looks really good, @jenny794.  Much cheaper than the competition.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • Maybe try this website, which promotes locally harvested meadow seed mixes too: https://britishwildflowermeadowseeds.co.uk/

You may be able to get some free from Grow Wild UK at the moment.  Likely only to be a smallish packet.

I've always bought my wildflower seeds from Wild Garden Seeds https://www.wildgardenseeds.co.uk/  they are of good quality, cheap and there is free postage on all orders! They were friendly and helpful when I emailed them for advice and they had a vast range of wildflower seeds. :)

Once you figure out what likes your soil and how best to get the result you want, I would strongly recommend buying bulk seed of the individual seeds you want and making your own mix. Bulk seed is so much cheaper than small amounts, but a huge factor. By buy 10g or 30g etc.
  • I used Landlife Wildflowers for my seed. Got their details after seeing Chris Packhams meadow that he planted using their seeds. The quality is unquestionable & they tell you exactly what is in the mix, but it isn’t cheap, although you only need a tiny amount per square metre. I also use Chilterns as they have a huge variety of native wildflower seed at really good prices. Never had any germination issues with them either.

    * just seen this is an old original thread - oops - maybe still useful to somebody*

they have a good selection of seed mixes (also turf) and were very reasonable

This company is just outside Nottingham, they have a visitor centre and sales area on site, you can buy plants as well as seeds (and you can order plug plants online) British Wildflowers | Seeds, Plants & Bulbs from Naturescape

  • Thank you @bullfinch.  I grew foxgloves, knapweed, ox eye daisies, teasel, ragged robin and borage, campion all from seed into plug plants, I sprinkled poppy seed and a few other seeds in the gaps. I dug up some violets, clover and daisies from our lawn to add to the mix - it was fun to do, with a little effort and great reward.

Looks incredible!  I'm hoping to try something similar by planting wildflower seeds over the next few weeks on a small bank. Somehow I don't think they will look as good as your flowers! I have great difficulty getting poppy seeds and orchids to germinate for some reason? Everything else comes up fine! I guess it might be the soil ph?? Anyway i've just ordered my seeds from the guys at Wild Garden Seeds as usual. Free postage! :)
