My Buddleas are the favourite right now. Lots of red admirals, painted ladies, a few tortoiseshells and large whites. No peacocks though which is worrying.

Buddleia, Liatris, scabious and the high light at the moment, big gaudy blousy Marigolds.

There is a Red Admiral that has taken a real shine to my Helianthus "Capenoch Star". It flies around the garden, but always returns to it without stopping on anything else .

They seem to favour yellow flowers.

  • For Peacock, Painted Lady and Red Admirals it has to be Buddleia at the moment, for Holly Blues - well I think you can guess their favourite and white butterflies prefer anything in the cabbage family.

Been plenty of butterflies this weekend. Lavender still the favourite, followed by Abelia.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

For the past couple of weeks the 'winner' with insects of all sorts has been our hibiscus (don't know the variety).

Definitely Scabious for me too. My buddliea has finished flowering unfortunately.
