Lovely hydrangeas @Lyn of course not all of them grow that big, there are some newer varieties that are much smaller and suitable for pots. My soil is chalky but doubt I would be able to grow any blue ones even with ericaceous compost as local water is also hard. Have read about the die, will probably try is sometime as I have just planted a little blue one in a pot.
