    That's great.  Your heat wave may be stressing the plant a bit, causing the less noticeable scent.  I do love the thornless roses.  My husband doesn't like me planting thorny anythings, even roses.  I currently only have a very few rose bushes planted by the home's former owner, a Master Gardener, the neighbors tell me.  Those few are not in "walking path" areas and my thorny bougainvillea are all overhead in baskets.  Gotta keep the hubby happy.  :)

    I must report that we had torrential rain last night, its a good ten degrees cooler this morning and my ZD has the slightest whiff of sweet scent this morning. Excellent

    I have a very poor sense of smell, so rose fragrance passes me by most of the time. However, during the current (thankfully now over) heatwave I did actually detect some scent on a fair few roses, even though they shrivelled and suffered. Perhaps my sense of smell is improving, or it’s the fact they are mostly three year’s old now and maturity of the plant is a factor...
