Dry, silver tips on Pileostegia viburnoides

The leaves on this pileostegia viburnoides are getting dry, silver tips and I can't figure out what's causing it. I thought it might be powdery mildew, but the tips are dry and brittle. Any ideas?

    Watering may have been erratic, causing the leaf tips to die off.
