Lawncare

Hi, my lawn is turning brown and dying
Big brown patches all over, don't know what it is . It is very stoney underneath but was ok last year apart from the drought
It as been fed  and it isn't scorched by feed,  last time I cut it I did notice the mower could do with a sharpen.
Has anyone got any ideas of what may be causing it to turn brown thanks John.

It could be red thread. We've got this problem. If you search on here, there are a few good links, including this one. https://www.lawnsmith.co.uk/lawn-alerts/lawn-read-thread-warning

    Thanks Nigella2 followed the link
Good advice except I don't have the pinky threads that are mentioned.

Maybe mowing too low and a blunt blade  won’t help especially if you have high spots that are being cut too short.

Water water water. Get the sprinkler on every 2-3 mornings for an hour.  And mow higher.
  • Could be too short, too dry or it might be fungal. Don't scalp it.

I have never watered an established lawn in my life, and don't intend to start.
My lawn got horribly brown last summer, but recovered well, as expected.
How can you lie there and think of England
