    My current favourite grass is Seleria autumnalis - here with Berberis t. atropurpurea 'Nana' and Sedum 'Matrona'

    That said, I would be tempted to plant it out in box and keep it clipped as a flat-topped circular topiary 'plinth'.

  • Thanks WillDB - I love the en masses planting idea & agree buxus would give me exactly what I want - patience could test me somewhat!!! 🤔🙈

    Whatever option you go for, you might as well take out those Irises. They won't get enough sun on the rhizomes.
    Assuming they're bearded iris, of course.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
