Golden Cyprus Conifer mostly brown, help needed.

Our little pot conifer has been like this for a good while now, and wondered if there is anything we can do to help it?
It has been like this for around 18 months with sections remaining green and always giving us hope that it may recover. We have fed it, and re potted it in a larger pot with fresh compost, kept it watered and out of bright sunlight and wind.
Nothing seems to be working, but it still has green shoots, so is all lost?

:( Thanks for the swift reply nutcutlet...
Only one more question... Why do some parts remain so vibrantly  green whilst other parts are showing zero signs of life?

Some of the roots have probably been damaged causing the brown patches, and others are supplying to the green bits. I had this happen to a conifer which was getting unevenly watered.

forgot to say it was entirely my own fault! Once the wood is dried out it just can’t sprout again.
