Your help to identify these plants would be greatly appreciated.

While I am no newbie gardener, I have only had a garden for 3 years. It consists of pots & a border. The previous owner pebbled all the lawned areas front & back. Prior to this I lived in a flat for 17 years. Plants have moved on a lot in recent years & my memory isn't as sharp!
My neighbour died very suddenly last week. She lived for her garden & while it had extensive beds it also had a lot of potted specimens. Her son asked me to take them & I want to nurture them for her in her memory. I just can't work out what two of them are.
I think one could be Pieris japonica, but as for the other I just can't decide. I need to be able to care for them right & as a lot of you are so knowledgeable, I signed up to ask for your help.

I had looked at Skimmia's, but no pictures showed such yellow leaves. Is this a lack of magnesium sign?
It was kept in full shade in its original home, so I figured it was a deficiency of something.
I intend to group it with others to give partial shade & am looking to switch pots at a suitable time.
She was poorly for two months but never let on it was cancer, returning for the third time 😔
She went into a hospice just two days after her birthday & passed away 8 days later. Mercifully quick, but sad.
I have gained approximately 26 plants of which 14 are shrubs. The rest are Pelargoniums, Primulas that are in flower, a cyclamen in flower. One miniature rose & a fair few hanging baskets she had rested on top of pots to use as planters. My water butt is empty so I am ferrying water from my Dad's across the road as his garden is all planted directly into the soil. I only have pebbled mounds!
