@Guernsey Donkey2. The hedging at the back is a mix of native hedging plants, all sorts,  I’ll have to have a look. Ah,  Roland just said hazel, whitethorn and blackthorn, could be more, when they’ve thickened up he’s going to steep them.

The conifers really had come to the end of their lives, they’ve been there for 30 years and the tallest dark one was two trunks and one came down in a bad storm so had to be felled, then they looked horrible so we took the other half out, then the ones left were brown because they’d been starved of light, so we had those down, there’s still a few more on the left.
The only birds nesting in there were magpies which I don’t like as they take the small birds eggs and rip the baby birds in half 😢

We have several fully grown areas where birds nest, evergreen shrubs, so no problem.

My dad grew all the conifers from cuttings and seeds, so you see, it runs in the family😀

I've just popped in some more perennials, Salvias, Penstemons, Agastache.

That's looking lovely Lyn and so much better than the dark old conifers.  Well done.

I found Rozanne to be a very messy, floppy geranium in Belgium till I moved it to a drier bed with poorer soil.  That might work for you too as it certainly looks like you have good soil and then all that rain too.

@Obelixx   It’s funny, I always wanted a Rozanne and bought that one at the Eden Project, not keen on it now. I don’t know where I could moved it to really,.
The rain is what’s made it all grow so fast, that and piles of home made compost, it needed it after the trees came down.
Your Aconitum seeds are nearly ready, if you send me a PM with your address.

Thanks Lyn.   Keep an eye out for Brookside.  I think it's a better blue and a better habit.

I’ve got this one, it’s nice and well behaved, don’t know what it’s called though.
I got all of my geraniums from someone on here through the seeds swap thread. 🙂

That's a beautiful border Lyn and a lot of hard work has clearly gone into making it so well done.
