Can anyone give me a bit of advice on keeping the slug/snail damage to my host, I heard of spraying them with a wash of garlic, but don't know how to make it any help please

We put wood chip down on our beds and find it keeps the slugs and snails away. The hosta leaves are in perfect condition - so far.....

Encourage frogs, toads, blackbirds, thrushes and , of course, hedgehogs, and don't have a cat.
