This is the fist time I have grown these, the flowers are beautiful but they only last one day although more seem to appear on the same stalk. Should I break off the flower head when they finish flowering?

    Treat as Hemerocallis ; take off dead flowers every day and remove flower stalk when all blooms are over .
    Obviously don't remove foliage before Autumn .

    This is a real challenge. The flowers are from Mexico and have 2 distinct seasons. Hot and wet and hot and dry. I grow them here in Brazil and they are not easy to reflower, which is why they are rarely grown in UK. You must stop watering after flowering, as the bulbs rot very easily. I would then lift them and store tham over winter in warm conditions. They are not very big so a paper bag in a bedroom drawer is sufficient, but they must be kept absolutely dry. When the weather warms up (hahahha) take them out and pot them up in rich, sandy compost, but give them very little water until the new shoots appear, after that you can go bonkers and give them plenty of water and fertilizer.
    I have to say that your best chance of getting them to reflower in UK is to keep them a lot warmer than you would most of your plants. Good luck - ian.
