I've been sowing and growing Cucino for the last couple of years which was fantastic - I harvested 294 from a single plant last year.
I don't know why, but Cucino is no longer available. I'm growing its replacement this year called Mini-Munch it's still prolific - I harvested 10 yesterday and have had around 40 so far this year, but it's not as good as Cucino

Sorry to read about your stem rot Bob, I had the same issue with my "La Diva" cukes that were doing really well until I planted them out.๐Ÿ˜ž

Still have a "Socrates" in the greenhouse, it's doing ok but not growing as high as I'd expected. I put clematis netting up across the roof but it's only just reached the top of the canes (at gutter height). Have picked about a dozen fruits so far, then it seemed to stop producing for a bit before flowering again. ๐Ÿ˜•?

Another bumper harvest from Pete ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘. I think I'd be overwhelmed by the quantity you get. What are you feeding them?ย

I'll have to confess that I've only had 2 myself this year.....
But my neighbours love them - good to keep the neighbours happy :)

I use ordinary Miracle Grow on cucumbers once a week, I've read it's a better match for cucumbers than tomato feed and I give them seaweed extract about once every 10-14 days.

I also trim off all leaves and shoots around the base of the stem to allow decent air flow to help prevent stem rot.

That's good to know Pete, thanks ๐Ÿ‘. I cut off a lot of the large old leaves yesterday, and then wondered if it was the right thing to do.ย
I've been using wilkos own tom feed with added seaweed extract. I do have some miracle grow general plant food, the type that goes in the hosepipe dispenser, might make a bit up in a milk bottle and try a dose of that.

'Telepathy' for the last few years.ย  100% germination/planting out success rate until this year and a great cropper.

Thanks for all the replies! I've ordered myself some mini Minch seeds next year - and the 294 things to do with a cucumber book in hopeful anticipation :-)
