    Thanks for that Edhelka.Sadly I am a 66 year lady with arthritis and hip/back problems + this is in top of a 3 foot wall (!)  otherwise I would have been there already. I was thinking about paying someone to come in do the heavy graft (if it is even possible on top of a 3foot wall)  but thought I would explore the other alternatives first.

    I got a hori hori recently. It's a Japanese trowel/knife. I find it really good for hacking at the clay to get weeds out and make planting holes.

    I'd give Di some time. Mine used to flower really well once it got going.
