We probably all do at the start, now its a case of that looks nice I’ll row some.
Remember  one thing though,  don’t  sow a whole packet seeds  if you only want 10 of each, sow about 15 or 20, be ruthless and throw away the ones you don't want, that way you can have a greater variety, I sow about 80 different lots, that includes some veg and everything for my baskets and tubs.

Mostly I use rice/ yogurt pots to sow seeds in, but some, like hanging basket plants, I will sow a seed tray full. Learn how to grow from cuttings, then you can ask your friends, family and neighbours for bits to grow on for a greater variety.
My garden doesn’t cost me anything but time, and of course, lots of bags of compost.

Get a composting system set up,  then you won’t need to put any bought feed on your ground.  Don’t throw anything away, apart from brambles and ground elder, everything goes on, including all your kitchen waste, newspapers, (scrounge some if you don’t get them),  junk mail, envelopes, cardboard, it soon mounts up.

Have a look on our Seed Swap thread, I’ve had lots from there.
Ok, I’ll ramble on forever given the chance, 😀

Yes that was my plan as I know otherwise I'd end up with loads of plants and nowhere for them to go! I think its so much more satisfying to grow from seed, its an achievement.

Yep planning on building a compost bin also as I've spent so much on compost this year I dare not add it all up or I might faint😂. Why can't brambles be composted?

I don't mind you rambling lol it allows me to learn!

Brambles can be composted but I find they leave sharp prickles in there, as I am a hands on, no gloves person I don’t like the dry prickles.
I feel that as every bit of ground elder root grows again, I’m scared to put it in just in case.
Try to aim at getting two compost bins so you can fill one, turn it over into the next one then start again.

Lyn, your garden looks lovely, a vibrant array of colour.
May I ask you which variety your beautiful deep blue delphinium is please? I love the colour and would like one like that in my border, or something a similar shade of blue.
