  It is not that common.
  Native to New Zealand.
  I love the fab berries.
  
  Liriodendron ...Liriope muscari have spikes of  upright flowers followed by berries.

  Yes... there's a Liriope with purple berries, but you're right, the stems are much more stiff and upright.  
  I guess Dianella is a bit more tender...
