Overgrown hebe

Hi
I think this is hebe but it is much bigger than I would like it to be. I would prefer it to be half the size, if not smaller. Can this be done and if so, please could you advise how?

    They can be fussy if cut back hard possibly die or take a long time to recover , I have done it before and it come back fine. Have a look and see if they are any new buds/shoots lower down the branches.

    I have cut them back hard and they have come back but as Perki says they can be fussy. Take a look inside the shrub for any new, healthy shoots lower down the stems. you can prune back to these new shoots. Keep the size uniform to maintain the nice, round shape. The best time to prune hard is late winter/early spring. Water well when you have pruned it.

    Hebes are a bit tempermental - some will take hard pruning and some not. If you do decide to prune it hard back be prepared that you might lose it.
