To Confirm name of this plant ?

2 members ( thanks Borderline & Cassie )think this is Chicory (Cichorium Intybus) .
Attached better photo.  Is it biennial or perineal ?

    Perennial, but when I had it it wasn't particularly long-lived. I've grown a new batch from  seed this year so I'll see h
    Ow it goes this time.

    they're so short lived I thought they were biennials :)

    Definitely Cichorium Intybus, this one is in its second year and will hopefully come back but seeds will be taken anyway.  Growing in between a pear and a cultivated blackberry and also 8ft+.  Must be a good year for chicory!  :)

    I must have the rare perennial variety. It seems to form deep tap roots, looks a lot like dandelions before it shoots up, But I admit it looks glorious, even if it was meant to be in the wildflower bit, but has moved into the herbaceous border.
