Problems with Golden Elm
I have had a golden elm in the garden since we moved in 2005. Originally just a stick it has now grown into a largish tree. It has been fine until a couple of years ago when it suddenly 'sprouted' two green branches. This year it has developed some 'bumps'on some of the leaves. I haven't seen this before and have no idea what to do about the 'bumps' or the green branches. Can anyone help please.

I don't know about Elm disease, but if it were my tree I would ask the advice of an arboriculturalist, or a tree surgeon, they will often come and look for nothing, I would think you need the green branches removed which will cost of course, but you will get advice on the galls? if that is what they are and the best time to remove the green branches.
I don't know if you already know a good one but this link might help you . It is worth getting professional advice if you love your trees.
Good luck.
