Lawn mower advice

Hi all,
On Tuesday we will complete on the purchase of our new house and it's got a 30m long garden and it's now dawned on me that in going to need a petrol lawn mower to actually cut it as my little Flymo electric lawn mower proba ly won't be up to the job with its 10m lead!
I'd really like for the lawn mower to stripe the lawn as I now so I think I'm correct in thinking that it needs to have a roller. However, that's where my knowledge ends. I don't know what width cutting blade would be best, is bigger always better? How difficult are pull start motors? Should I look for a key start? Should I be looking for any specific engine or are they all relatively reliable? Or should I get a lawn mower with rechargable batteries? I'm so confused!!

What's your budget? How wide is the garden?

I think the Bosch Rotak 43Li could suit you perfectly. It has a rear roller, is battery powered, gives an excellent finish and in a recent Which review top scored with 81%. With batteries and charger you’ll get it for less than £500. (By contrast, my ever reliable petrol driven powerful Honda machine with rear roller cost c. £1100).
