Euonymus / Lavender

I have bought 2 Euonymus today (emerald gaiety and harlequin ) and i'm thinking about putting one of them in my old wheelbarrow with some perennial violas  but unsure which one. What do you think ?. I also bought a Lavender (purpleberry ruffles) and have since read that the french lavender  is not as hardy as the english lavender so think i'd  better put it in a pot rather than in the garden.
