Corgettes

I've started growing corgettes this year I have 4 plants. 2 have green corgettes and 2 have yellow. Is there something wrong with them or do some plants just grow yellow corgettes tis

There are some varieties with yellow fruits (and some with round fruits).
Did you grow them from seed or did you buy them as young plants? Do you know the variety name?

  • I grew them from seed it came in a box with other seeds. Called a funky veg box. It's got bizarre types of seeds such as multi coloured swiss chard. Stripped tomatoes red sprouts etc. However the corgettes just say corgettes on the packet

Ah! I see ... that explains it 😊 ... I sometimes grow the yellow ones ... I like the flavour and they look attractive on the plate ... I sometimes use slices of green and yellow ones together.

    Enjoy 😊

  • I have yellow and green ones and agree with @Dovefromabove that the flavour is good and they look really good on the plate!

I love yellow courgettes- seem sweeter and juicier than the green ones. The pale Genovese type are another favourite. Hope you like courgettes, if they do well for you, with four plants you will be inundated and searching for courgette recipes!

I’ve been experimenting with different courgette varieties this year. I agree the yellow ones are lovely. I really like the patty pans too. Though not sure if they count as a courgette or a squash.

I used the patty pans for that cake recipe one year ... they worked just fine. 😋
