Unless you love over here, where you are allowed to grow two plants per household, but many of my neighbours seem to have forgotten that rule... poly tunnels full of the stuff!

Not far from me in Danbury they have fields of hemp.
It looks the same as the real thing, but it doesn't have any of the magic ingredients - so I've been told...

It does for anglers who use it as an attractant. In my fishing days I used to boil loads of it up in a big pan (much to my wife's disgust).

Yup.... that's weed. Grows like, well weeds! Probably from bird seed,  pretty sure it's only the female plants that provides the buds that get used for "relaxation "

  • Well since it was posted in 2019 it will be some size by now whatever it is.

Sorry to differ but that is exactly what it looks like Cannabis sativa...see link.
The other name is Hemp...an incredibly useful plant.
    It is grown in UK.

    Quote wiki...."
    Hemp
, or industrial hemp, is a botanical class of Cannabis sativa cultivars grown specifically for industrial or medicinal use. It can be used to make a wide range of products. Along with bamboo, hemp is among the fastest growing plants on Earth. It was also one of the first plants to be spun into usable fiber 50,000 years ago.It can be refined into a variety of commercial items, including paperropetextilesclothingbiodegradable plasticspaintinsulationbiofuelfood, and animal feed."

Why are all these "ghost" threads being dragged up?
A couple of months back I started replying to a post and realised I'd contributed to it about 2 yrs ago!

Hemp is grown commercially because it cleans soil of toxins like industrial waste, very useful!
If you get a patch going you could knit some jumpers. 😁
