Tarnished plant bug damage - strawberries

Evening everyone,
I have what appears to be classic tarnished plant bug damage on many of my strawberries this year. The fruits are deformed, and at first I suspected poor pollination ..... I did wonder how that could happen as we have 8 hives of honeybees in the garden
Do any of you have any experience of preventing this using cultural methods .... too late for this year I know.

Many thanks,

I am having the same problem with my raspberries which haven't had before could it be that the weather has been so up and down with some days rather on the cool side and the nights haven't been all that warm,,don't forget June was very wet and cool most of the time, also we had one or two late frosts which didn't help.

    Hi Peter,

I agree it could be weather related .... but the damage does look more like the tarnished plant bug rather than frost. I grow the strawberries in troughs and I pop them into the greenhouse if a late frost is forecast.
I do have some good fruit .... but about half are deformed and probably not even fit for jam
