Moving a magnolia.

Hi all. I planted a magnolia Stellata rosea in March this year. It came in a pot and has been fine. It is about 6ft tall. However, as this is a new garden I think I’ve planted it in the wrong place and want to move it. Should I wait till autumn or spring, or would it be fine to move now? I’m thinking that as it hasn’t long been in the ground the rootball would still be relatively small and that it might be fine now. Any thoughts?

If mine , I would move it now but then again I'm not known for my patience ! >:)
However , the shrub being yours it may be wise to wait until Autumn .
If you decide on 'now' , just dig a very large rootball after pre-soaking first and replant asap !
You're probably correct re:- the rootball ; having been in for just over three-months I think it should be fine .

You may need to water it daily, definitely keep a close eye on it.
