Hydrangea paniculata advice please

  • They are not too happy in pots the larger paniculata varieties...had grown a macrophylla one for five years in a pot and it was very happy. But it was transformed by also being planted in the ground last year. They love a good soaking and I'm really impressed with my Wim's Red which hasn't wilted or scorched at all during the last very hot weather...its roots must have had a good start last year when I planted it. Such beautiful plants though...worth persevering @KeenOnGreen

Just after I had posted my message, I had a look at my plant.  It’s put on lots of new shoots in the past couple of days.  Looks like a shadier spot and lots of watering has done the trick.  I will move it into a much larger pot in the autumn, or possibly the ground.
