Fir trees

Hello

Does anyone know what is wrong with my fir trees and would it spread to other firs (photos attached)?

    Their life has come to an end, we had some like that, 30 years and that’s there lot. 
    It wasn’t until one came crashing down that we knew we had to have them felled. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
