Trailing Perennial for Pillar Pot

    Diascia trails a bit too. Comes in great colours, seems very hardy and tough. You'd need to keep up with the watering, though.

    Not a clue, it was put in 30+ years ago, but I'll ask my dad as he put them in lol

    Creeping Jenny, perennial and comes in green or yellow leaved varieties, both have flowers like buttercups.  Trailing fuchsias.  Vinca major or minor.  Variegated ivy such as "Yellow Ripple"  Lonicera japonica.  Perennial sweet pea.

    I would go for some pretty leaved ivy for winter interest and pop in some summer trailers every year just to give you the flowers you wish.

    You could try perennial candytuft, Iberis sempervirens. Mine grows on the edge of a drystone wall and trails down to the ground. Flowers in spring and summer but stays a cheerful bushy green all year. I have the white one but there is a mauvey one too.
