Potatoes

hi,
i planted red duke of York and foremost back in March/ April. We have just started harvesting them (probably a little late judging by the size- not very new potato but very excited as our first potatoe harvest!)
can I leave the ones we won’t get to eating for a while in the ground? if so how long for?

Thanks
lizzie

The York's need to come out reasonable quickly but the foremost can stay in through the summer, the York's are also a bigger potato and good for roasting  :p

  • Brill that’s great to know! Will focus on the dukes to start. First year growing potatoes and probably should have harvested earlier for “new potatoes” but pleased so far. Next year we’ll do it a little differently!
