What are these bugs on my Salix?

Hi. Could anyone help me to identify what these bugs are that are all over my Salic?  Are they pests or helpful? Should I be treating the Salix? Thank you.

    Ladybird pupae. Definitely friends!

    Definitely ladybirds before they reach that stage they are long and thin. They apparently are most effective predators during the juvenile stage. 
    Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.

    Like most adolescents they’re permanently hungry 😂

    I can vouch for that dove mine could eat as a competitive sport, then sleep through just about anything. Perhaps teenagers and bugs are somehow synchronized. 🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞

    I suppose if we regarded sleeping teenagers as pupae in a chrysalis it might make that stage easier to tolerate while we wait for the butterfly we know is going to appear 🦋
