  • @Fairygirl yes the seeds are from this year, so Wilko clearly still have issues with their supplier. My germination rate has been very poor as well. It was a bit of an impulse buy as ive not grown them before but ill look elsewhere for seeds in future.

What a pain. There are plenty of good suppliers - Chilterns, Eagle etc, so it's worth taking a look. Not too late to sow some either.
I used a different supplier this year too - a small outfit, and they do them in small packs.  https://www.johnsonssweetpeas.co.uk/
All doing well, although only sown recently   :)
You can often get packs of small plants too in various GCs etc, although they tend to be mixed colours etc.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I bought loads of Wilko seeds last year (so flowering summer 2020 and 2021) and the year before and didn’t have the problem. This year my plants are almost all my seeds from last year as I found that the saved seeds from summer 2020 that I grew last year were actually the strongest and most interesting.

How funny. I was searching the internet to see what on earth this plant was that came up from my Wilkos sweet peas using a picture & Google lense. This post popped up so obviously an on going Wilkos issue!! At least I know what this plant is now!
