Shrub ID please

hi there, any help on a shrub ID would be greatly appreciated. I planted this a few years ago and usually keep the white cards to remind me what everything is but I have no card for this one. Is it a weigela? Thanks in advance 🌿 ps when would be best time to tidy it up?

    Could be Weigela atropurpurea.

    It does look like weigela. Tidy it up immediately after flowering. If you do it in spring you will lose the flowers.
