Resolving a constantly leaking hose to garden tap.

Whatever I tighten the connecting between tap and hose leaks.  Does anyone know of a way to stop it?

    We had this with a plastic connection and bought a new brass set. Not much help with correcting the one you've got, maybe someone else will be able to help.

    You  need some plumber's tape on the threads. Readily available from DIY stores.

    The brass ones are more durable, but they leak without it too, in my experience. 

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Plumbers tape has not worked because the water forces its way out where the connection is made.  I know such a connector does exist but have forgotten its name.

    Have you got a photo of the set up you have, BML? That might help with advice  :)
    Most of the new hose fittings are also available in two sizes. Is there a chance you have the wrong size?

    I have tried all sorts of connectors and hoses, with and without plumber’s tape, but the only ones I find don’t leak and can take the high pressure of my garden tap are Gardena. 
    Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

    I know that there are such devices as leak free connectors but I've lost the web page.

    I put a bucket underneath it , and hang a washcloth over the tap to stop the fine spray wetting the wall.
