Tiny white insects? What are they?

Hello all,
We have a problem in our fruit garden. There are masses of very tiny white dots and a sticky residue. The white dots appear to be insect but they are smaller than an aphid, I dont think they are white flies. They are at the limits of my sight, but I do not see wings, I think I see six legs and two horns. These insects are covering a plum tree, rasperry bushes, swtraweberries and blackberries. The area covers about 15ft square. Some backberries and some rasperries have distorted fruits- this might or mght not be the same thing. The best way to describe the fuits is that if you imagine a blackberry as having little purple/blue balls, then some of these balls turn white, in the case of the raspberries pink.

Any ideas anyone?  thanks.

Can you take a photo,  I can’t imagine blue pink and purple balls that turn white.
