Potato harvest

I’ve just harvested the first bucket of Charlotte spuds. I’ve not grown them before and used 14l builders buckets with 3 small seed potatoes. The buckets were sited on soil with plenty of holes so roots went through. I incorporated some rotted manure and potato fertiliser when planting.
So is this a reasonable harvest, I’m not sure what to expect?  I’m wondering if 2 potatoes would be better next time, as there were a few pea sized tubers?
weight was 2.8lbs (1.27kg)

I think thats pretty impressive from one bucket, Flinster. You always get some tiddlers, even grown in the ground. Two to a bucket might give you bigger tubers, but I like the wee uns.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

Really? That’s good to know, thanks Nollie! I was pleased anyway, but as I wasn’t sure what an average harvest would be from a bucket I thought I’d better check - in case I was missing a trick lol! 😬

Ah, I didn't plant mine till 9th April . They had to wait for the bed to be built. The back half of the big bed. Now the potato plants are so big you can't see the bed. 🙂

You should get a lot more than my little bucket then! The anticipation of emptying the bucket was almost more than I could stand lol!! 😂

Just an update on my Charlotte potatoes.  Just pulled one plant and got these which have been cooked for tea, and enough left for hubby's pack up.😁

I have potato envy! Mine only stay in one piece if I roast them- tried steaming, simmering and microwave! They aren’t even that tasty unless slathered in butter and salt! Hoping my Sarto Mira will be better oh and Desiree.. forgot I planted those!
