Tree Identification

Hi All
I have these two trees in my garden that I have struggled to identify and would appreciate any help in identifying and getting a better understanding on the best way to look after them. The first one, with white flowers, is an absolute haven for the birds, with its tangled mass of branches. Hopefully self explanatory, but first three pictures are 1 tree, next three are the second tree. Any help would be much appreciated

    First one might be a mock orange of some kind. I have a similar plant but nowhere near as many flowers!

    Yes, I agree - Philadelphus, common name Mock Orange.  Highly scented flowers, probably, if we're right...

    The second one is a copper beech tree, pruned as a bush.
    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Keep on top of the pruning for the copper beech, otherwise it will grow into a large tree.
    If you want to thin out the Philadelphus, you can take out a few of the oldest stems each year, down to ground level (or as near as you can get), but as long as it's flowering well and not too big for the space, you can leave it alone.

    Many thanks for the responses, they are a big help. I had to laugh about the "pruned as a bush" as my wife berated me a couple of years ago for my "pruning" but the aim is certainly to keep it no bigger than it is now, if not a bit smaller as it will shut out too much sun. As for the Mock Orange, the birds absolutely love it for a place to hide in and come to the feeder, but it is starting to feel a bit like a jungle in there
