Have I done enough to kill off my Bougainvillea?

I chopped down my Bougainvillea bush this weekend and sent it off in a skip. Chainsawed the trunk as low as I could go then doused it with concentrated RoundUp. These things are like Triffids so I want to make sure it will die and never grow back. Have I done enough? I will attempt to dig out most of the roots once it is dead.

    Did you read the instructions on the Roundup bottle?
    Roundup (Glyphosate) works by being taken up by the leaves and then being transported to all parts of the plant including the roots. As you have removed all the foliage it will not be able to work.
    However, SBK Brushwood Killer or a similar product might , so you could try one of them. Check the instructions first!
