Stubborn Scale Insect

Hi there,

We have a rather stubborn scale inset issue on one of our conservatory plants. I have soaked the plant with a spray that should have seen them off twice, and tried a soil based solution, none of which have worked. Has anyone had this problem or know a way to deal with the problem?

Thanks

Ordinary sprays no good, paint on methylated spirit. That’ll shift them.
My mum always used it on her houseplants.

Someone on here advised methylated spirits. T put it on with a stiff artist's acrylic/oil painting brush.  It worked for me but it was on a fig tree which has pretty tough leaves.  When I'd finished, I hosed it down with water.I
I got them off the branches of a rosebush with a toothbrush and plain water.
