can anyone identify this plant please?

I didn't plant it and it wasn't there last year.  It's snowy white except for the edges dying off.

    Whilst there is a vast amount of knowledge on this forum , and a plethora of useful and friendly advice , I doubt if many of us are psychic or clairvoyant to be able to advise on a problem without a picture of the plant you are enquiring about !! :/

    The picture’s there now ... but I’ve not got the foggiest of what it is 🙄 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Picture finally downloaded , and apologies for my curt response , but looks like the variegated Acanthus mollis 'Whitewater' .
    The initial partial variegation can often 'take-over' entire leaves .

    The edges are browning probably due to sun-scorch  B) ; yet growing the plant in dappled shade often induces reversion to the green form !
    A bit of a no-win situation really .

    thanks guys, it was actually in deep shade surrounded by some bigger plants so wasn't getting any sun, I'm a bit behind on my weeding :(

    Don’t worry about being behind on weeding, I have ground elder flowering, and now noticed nice tall pink flowers.... quests what?  Rosebay willow herb,  a weed I definitely won’t have in the garden.

    Yup.its an acanthus as PaulB3 has identified

    You're right Lyn ; Ground Elder (especially flowering) is far more preferential to Willowherb. :)
