Identification of two plants

Good afternoon, we,ve bought a house recently and in the back garden we have two plants that we no idea what they are and therefore do not know how to manage.
wonder if anyone can help at all?

The top photo is Phormium Tenax, New Zealand Flax. The bottom photos are Echium Vulgare, Vipers Bugloss.

I think the spiky one is a phormium. Not sure about the blue-flowered one but it looks like something in the borage family.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
