Unidentified Roses

I inherited quite a few. It’s finally time I learned what they are, when to prune them and how to prune them!  Many thanks to anyone who can help ID them.  I’ve posted one or two of pics of each ...

    1 could be Bonica.

    I agree

    1. looks very like Bonica. 

    2. could be Francis E Lester ... a rambler. 

    3.  possibly American Pillar
    another rambler 

    but these are very very tentative suggestions @Marlorena is much more knowledgeable than I am

    The first one, with the huge cluster of blooms, grows in a weird arching way and is a problem because it is currently stemming from the base right by the fence and arching all the way to a couple of metres away and squidging a row of heucheras which are underneath it.  If I try to lift it, petals go everywhere and make a mess :-(

    That’s exactly what mine is doing at the moment. They’re often sold as ‘ground cover’ roses because of this ... although I’ve found when growing if in a sunnier spot in a previous garden, it didn’t do this as much and held the bunches up nicely. My son is going to make me some metal half-hoops for my Christmas present to hold them up for next summer.

     In the meantime it makes a gorgeous centrepiece for the table plonked in a jug with some acid green foliage
