Can I save this rose bush?

  • I’ve gave it a good prune and cut out all the diseased wood and it looks loads better already, all be it still very tall.

When it comes to winter I’ll cut back all the old wood to the base. (Hope that’s right)

What about younger stems and there’s also two new stems from this year.

    Sorry for all the questions!

    Thanks again.

At this stage, it may be a climber, so you will need to somehow train your bush in a way to help it to be more stable and get some branches below to thicken and mature so it is able to hold its weight.

No rush to prune anything down. You can shorten some stems, but leave it till early spring next year. Cutting in winter is always riskier as frost may damage newly pruned tips.
