New barrel pond.

I have just finished planting up my new barrel pond.
It is not really a wildlife pond as I already have one elsewhere but am sure something will like it!
It sits on a drain cover which has always been an awkward place to put pots so hoping this will work.
Shall put some more pictures up once it gets going.

Looks great. Which plants have you put in there? Might give it a go!

    Juncus ensifolius (Flying Hedgehogs)
    Cyperus eragrostis (Umbrella Sedge)
    Veronica beccabunga (Brooklime)
    Anemopsis californicum (Apache Beads)
    Mimulus cardinalis (Scarlet Monkeyflower)

Never grown any of them before so will see how it develops!

  • Looks great, mine isn't so neat as the birds use it to splash about in. Don't mind the little ones but 2 pigeons having a bath at the same time cause mayhem.

That looks lovely. I might need to get your advice-mine isn't doing too well, and I'm not sure why.

I only set it up yesterday so I still have to see if it does well!

I also think it looks so nice... I recently made one but I'm now wondering what one is supposed to do with it in the winter, during freezing weather?... I haven't thought that through yet.. I have a miniature water lily in the middle... I also seem to have some black wriggly things that I fear are either gnat or mosquito babies...
