The 80s shoulder pads make me think it's a dock bug. There's a couple of similar looking ones though.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Thanks, I’ll go and do some research. Time methinks to buy a book on British insects. Any good recommendations gratefully received.
