Hedge cutter advice please?

Quite a few times every year we get a "gardener" in to cut the hedges around my house. It's always a problem getting hold of them as most seem not really bothered, maybe the job's to small.

I have a Bosch electric hedge cutter at the minute that I use to try and keep the hedges tidy. Could anyone please advise on a more robust hedge cutter, be it battery, electric or petrol powered, so I can start cutting it myself?

Most of the hedges are privet with a very small amount of hawthorn.

How much hedge?  Length, height and width.  It may well make a difference to the advice.

    Thanks for the reply.

At a guess, there is 60 to 70 metres of hedge in total. Maximum height 2 metres. The width, probably just over half a metre.
