Viola And Pansies

Hello my panzies and violas are fading now i know they dont like hot weather, is it best to cut these back and will they grow back over the autumn, or is it best to buy new plants ?

    There are perennial violas, but the most commonly sold ones are usually used as annuals. You can cut them back and they may re-grow but it's best to buy new ones in the autumn. They aren't expensive anyway.

    Some do and look good, usually the ones that aren't in full sun, but not many. It's often better to get new ones. You could cut yours back and see how they go if you don't need the space for something else. If they  look grotty later in the year, hoik them out. If mine look pretty bad at this time of year, I compost them.

    Any ideas for a nice flowering perrenial to replace these?

    I like penstemons. They're easy to grow and propagate, but they're addictive!
