Bay laurel pest attacking my lovely hedge!

Hello,

I have 4 x Bay laurel about 4-5 ft high planted new last year. Some have blue powdery deposit and leaves curling up, some being eaten, have all been very healthy. They are in a partly shaded position and I cut the tops off earlier this year, perhaps misguidedly, in an attempt to get them to bush out.  One of the branches is being stripped bare. How should I best treat this before it gets out of control?

Many thank for your help.

Hose the aphids off with a strong spray. You don't need to be gentle. Pick off the curled leaves and it'll be fine.
