    Same here Nollie! Totally blank slate garden and it's really hard sometimes to visualise how everything will develop and merge.

    You can do an awful lot of planning but then nature steps in, too much rain, not enough rain, some flowers will be later, others earlier than planned. Just the other side of the combo in the pic, I had a small spiraea 'Goldflame, then I bought 2 or 3 of the peachy-red heucheras to go with  it. Looked good last year. Earlier this year, the spiraea died on me so I bought another one. Then a lot of the big purple allium popped up in the same place so I've been waiting till they go over before I can plant it and my new rose 'Silver Jubilee' I chose to continue the peachy-red theme, isn't quite the colour I envisaged!  Win some, lose some!
